If you're looking into becoming a ferret parent, there are several things you need to prepare ahead of time, including a cage and accessories. Ferrets can be expensive for a small pet. Training, exercise, bedding, litter, grooming, vet appointments and babysitting can be very expensive and time consuming. They are very “high maintenance” when compared to cats and most dogs. Ferrets require intensive training during their early years due to their rambunctious personalities. They are very demanding when they’re awake and need at least four hours a day of regular exercise, including two hours of quality human contact. Please explore the site to learn more about raising a healthy ferret and to make sure you are ready to take on the responsibility of owning one of these furballs. If you decide that a ferret it the right pet for you, consider adopting from a shelter, such as The Ferret Inn
